Plans for a new residential development complete with double height winter garden have moved forward with property developer HBD submitting planning permission for the exciting new project.
Neighbourhood will offer 414 homes; a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. The amenities on offer will be among the best in the city, including private gardens, roof terraces and social spaces, plus a gym, lounge, work-from-home areas and an on-site concierge.
Boosting ‘liveability’ the scheme incorporates new planting and rain gardens throughout the new scheme, alongside extensive sustainability features throughout.
Residents and visitors to Neighbourhood will benefit from a carefully curated mix of independents clustered around attractive new public spaces, offering a vibrant new spot to relax and enjoy downtime or to spend time with friends.
Simon Raiye, Director at HBD, said: “We have had a very positive reaction to our plans for Neighbourhood and have considered and reacted to a number of suggestions following the consultation event. It’s great to be able to submit planning and begin to move forward with our vision for the site.
He continued: “We set out to create not just a residential development, but a successful new community that will enrich the Jewellery Quarter and offer an exciting new destination within the city. Considerate but creative design will ensure that the buildings are attractive and sympathetic to their surroundings, while adding new green areas and public space for everyone to enjoy.”
The development would see the complete transformation of the former Sytner car garage located in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Neighbourhood is HBD’s second project within the Jewellery Quarter, with construction work on its Setl development well underway.
HBD is progressing a series of large-scale urban regeneration developments, creating vibrant new neighbourhoods in major cities across the country. Kampus, a £450m project in Manchester City Centre has become a popular new destination, bagging a number of high-profile awards.
Subject to planning permission being granted, HBD hopes to start on site in mid 2023.
