Property developer HBD has submitted planning for an additional 82,000 sq. ft. at The Quad, Butterfield Business Park, following the success of the first phase of the scheme.
The first phase of The Quad provided a total of 83,000 sq. ft. employment space. With continued demand for space, HBD has lodged plans to bring forward an additional 5 units to expand the scheme.
Butterfield Business Park is an 83-acre light industrial development in Luton, just under five miles from Junction 10 of the M1 and Luton Airport. Occupiers benefit from a range of on-site amenities including an Innovation Centre, The Office Business Village, and a Hilton Hotel.
The new units will range from 10,000 sq. ft. to 25,000 sq. ft.
Luke Davenport, Senior Development Surveyor at HBD, said: “This next phase of The Quad is very much driven by demand – the first ten units went very quickly and we know that there is a shortage of high-quality employment space in Luton. The opportunity to acquire a freehold also proved very popular with occupiers.
“We’re pleased to be able to extend the scheme, providing businesses with the facilities they need to grow, creating new jobs and opportunities.”
The Quad was recently shortlisted in the Industrial Agents Society (IAS) Awards within the Best Overall Scheme – Multi Let Industrial Scheme category.
Construction is expected to begin early next year.
