This planned regeneration of a 28-acre site in the London Borough of Enfield is set to deliver an economic boost to a deprived part of the capital and generate a significant number of new jobs. In a joint venture with the local authority, HBD is helping to transform an area in Edmonton Green which historically had been used as a centre for waste transportation and scrap. Our aim is to create an environment which encourages small SMEs in Enfield to thrive – particularly those focused in sectors such as textiles, food production and last-mile logistics.
We are already on site with the first phase of the project, involving some 60,000 sq ft of space, which is set to be completed by October 2021. A planning application has meanwhile been submitted for the remaining area, which represents another 300,000 sq ft. We hope to see this come to fruition by the autumn of 2023.
There are a number of complexities, reflecting issues over conflicting land use and the need to follow the direction of The London Plan issued by City Hall. HBD is a delivering a vacant possession strategy on behalf of our joint venture partner and intends to retain a long-term commitment to the site.
